Rarely are the people of Winneshiek County at rest. New initiatives and projects are beginning everyday. It is the effort of active community members that keep the area moving forward. This page has been created to update the community on these initiatives as well as provide a place where those working on such projects can give updates and progress reports.

Construction has begun on the new Water Street Plaza just West of Oneota Co-op. The bulk of the project will be completed prior to Nordic Fest with the full project expected to be completed by the end of the summer. T-shirts are available at Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, Java John's and Oneota Co-op.

The Trout Run Trail is now in its final phase with 8 miles completed and the bridge spanning Highway 9 to be let yet this fall.

Fundraising is underway to construct a brand new Aquatic Center at Luther College. This $8 million project will include a new competitive pool, diving area, spectator seating and more!
