Today Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors celebrated new downtown business KD Refillery and joined Co-Owners Desiree Baumler and Kylene Ellis to cut a red ribbon. Decorah’s first ‘refillery’ is located at 128 West Water Street and boasts bulk supplies for laundry, kitchen, and personal care. (Neighbor business is Magic Morpho)

KD Refillery features great choices for customers in pursuit of effective and sustainable products – with a special focus on simple ingredient lists, minimal packaging, and sensitive/hypoallergenic items. You can bring in your own containers to fill or purchase containers in the store. The top items that people are surprised by? The toothpaste tabs and toilet bomb tabs. (Toothpaste tabs are now stocked in strawberry flavor!) Ambassadors enjoyed learning about what was on shelves and hearing the creation story of the business. Kylene and Desiree have been friends for a long time and had talked about teaming up for a small business venture. Now, four months into the endeavor, they are energized by the response.

This store is a must visit for anyone looking to simplify and beautify their cupboards and counters, planning a trip (we love the mess-free mouthwash tablets), or needing to switch to products that are more skin-friendly. The best part? Kylene and Desiree have vetted what they carry and can share real world advice for use and storage.
