Decorah Area Chamber Ambassadors enjoyed touring The Maeck Sculpture Foundation in Burr Oak, Iowa with Artist Steven Maeck. Dozens of large welded steel sculptures fill the park and many more are protected within the silos on site. Hearing about the inspiration, sourcing of materials, and journey of the works of art was an enriching experience.

The Sculpture Park held a Grand Opening this month and their new website shares story and imagery from this unexpected treasure hidden in a tiny town in Northeast Iowa.

Private tours can now be scheduled for individuals and groups. Those interested are encouraged to fill out the tour request form on the website (linked below). Currently, Artist Steven Maeck will lead the personalized tours, offering unique insights into his work and creative process.

**Did you know that the City of Decorah‘s SSMID Committee facilitated the lease of one of Steven’s works – “The Rolling Eclipse” is currently located in Decorah’s Carl Selland Park (near the College Drive Bridge and across the road from Pulpit Rock Brewing Company)
