Faith in Every Student
For over 140 years, St. Benedict School has nurtured students in faith, knowledge, and service through academic excellence rooted in Gospel values and Catholic teachings. Our whole-child approach to education supports the academic, spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of every student in preschool through 8th grade.
St. Ben’s provides a welcoming learning environment for students. Our school campus includes a large media center, multiple outdoor athletic areas, a natural prairie, and plenty of green space for recess and PE. Students across all grade levels build confidence and leadership through a wide range of extracurricular and fine arts opportunities, including MathCounts, Student Council, musicals, band, and more. Guided by our Catholic faith, we integrate Christian traditions and teachings into daily religion classes, weekly Mass, and service to both our local and global community.
St. Benedict School is fully accredited through the State of Iowa. All faculty are state-licensed, and our curriculum aligns with the Iowa Core Standards across all grade levels. Through our long-standing partnerships with the Decorah Community School District and Keystone AEA, along with the support of the St. Benedict parish, the Archdiocese of Dubuque, school families, and community members, we ensure every student has the resources needed to succeed and grow!
An education at St. Benedict School is available to all families seeking a Christ-centered education, regardless of academic need or financial ability. We are committed to inspiring academic excellence and spiritual growth in the Decorah community for generations to come!
