Seed Savers Exchange celebrates 50 years in 2025 and this August 8th & 9th will host their 50th Anniversary Conference & Celebration at Heritage Farm just north of Decorah, Iowa. Learn more about that gathering here: https://seedsavers.org/events/50th-anniversary-celebration/
The mission of Seed Savers Exchange is “to steward America’s culturally diverse and endangered garden and food crop legacy for present and future generations. Educate and connect people through collecting, regenerating, and sharing heirloom seeds, plants, and stories.”
Chamber Ambassadors were pleased to add a ribbon cutting into the suite of celebration activities for SSE this summer. Executive Director Mike Bollinger and Founder Diane Ott Whealy cut the ribbon surrounded by staff.
Seed Savers Exchange is not just a major tourism attraction for the Decorah Area, but also a significant contributor to the Winneshiek County economy. Thank you to the whole team for all you do to “Keep heirloom seeds in our gardens and on our tables.”
Chamber Ambassadors: Marcia Madrigal (Kelly Real Estate), Heather Benzing and Dallas Steffen (Decorah Bank & Trust Co.)
