Chamber Ambassadors enjoyed welcoming new business West Side Whisk Bakery to Chamber Membership. This home-based cottage bakery, located on Decorah’s west side, is run by Lycia Jens. Cookies, Scones, and Sourdough Breads are baked up fresh and the whole neighborhood gets to enjoy the delicious smell of goodies right out of the oven.
Â
To best serve her customers, Lycia alternates between Bake Sale weeks and Direct Order weeks. It was impressive to see how Lycia’s husband Isac (The Home Spruce) renovated the space to best suit baking – and meet the standards required by the state. He even added a special touch: an antique window nisse – originally owned by his Grandma Ingrid Callahan.
Â
Ambassadors got to sample Cookies & Cream Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Double Chocolate S’mores Cookies. Being an Ambassador is tough work, but this is what they train for.
