Chamber Ambassadors celebrated Scooter’s Coffee grand opening last Friday, October 14th with franchise owners Alan and Mary Devereaux. The Devereauxs, residents of Omaha, NE, fell in love with Decorah while vacationing. Their affection for the town resulted in not only living part-time in Decorah, but also investing in a drive-thru coffee business on Short Street.
Scooters Coffee, is a Nebraska-based business, devoted to high quality drinks and speed of service. The business was started in 1998 and is now up to around 500 locations nation-wide. As the company slogan “scoot in and scoot out” indicates, staff try to get cars through in 3 minutes or less.
The Devereaux’s location on Short Street in Decorah, stands out with its striking black siding and red awnings. Open from 6 am to 8pm, customers may select from an extensive drink menu complemented by a unique breakfast menu. Known for the Caramelicious drink and Maple Waffle Sandwich, Scooter’s averages around 200 cars through their drive-thru every day.
